Barons Dominate Pioneers to Round Out 2025

In a dominant display of basketball on December 29, 2025, the Brewton- Parker Christian University Barons men's team clinched a decisive win against Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers at Gillis Gymnasium. The end-of-year game showcased the skill of the Barons, ending with an impressive score of 7745 in Brewton-Parker's favor.
The first half began with Spartanburg Methodist scoring first, but the pace quickly changed as Tommy J Tisdale III started raining threes. He led the Barons with multiple 3-pointers, helping the Barons build a commanding lead. His outstanding performance gave Brewton-Parker a 21-point lead at the half, with the scoreboard reading 41-20 in favor of the Barons.
As the game entered its second half, Brewton-Parker maintained strong control. Gil Gonzalez provided key assists and made vital plays, contributing to the team's scoring efforts. Jayden Hill's defensive plays were crucial in limiting the Pioneers, solidifying the Barons' command over the game. Brewton-Parker kept the pressure, extending their lead to 42 points during the second half, securing their victory with a final score of 77-45.
Standout performances included Tommy J Tisdale III, who scored a career high of 31 points. Other significant contributions came from Gil Gonzalez, who finished with 10 points and multiple assists, and Jayden Hill, who contributed 8 points and defended stoutly with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Head Coach Leonard Epps praised the team's effort, saying, 'Glad to get a win to end the year. Proud of Trey hitting a career high tonight. Excited to continue and get ready for conference play in the new year.'
The Brewton-Parker Barons are set to host Life University on January 6, 2026, starting a run of conference opponents. The Barons look to continue their winning ways in the new year and build off their 10-3 record.
