Bulldogs Split With Redskins
It was a light week for the Wheeler County High School basketball teams as they faced only one opponent, the Bryan County Redskins. The teams split the matchup, with the Bulldogs securing a victory while the Lady Bulldogs took a loss.
Boys vs. Bryan Co.
In the boys' game, Wheeler County fought a close battle to pull out a 60-51 win. The contest began evenly, with the score tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs managed to gain a slight edge before the break, taking a 27-23 lead into halftime.
Wheeler County extended that margin in the second half, pushing the score to 43-34 by the end of the third period. They held onto the momentum through the final quarter to secure the nine-point victory.
Girls vs. Bryan Co.
The Lady Bulldogs had a tougher outing, falling to the Lady Redskins 59-28. Bryan County controlled the pace of the game, and Wheeler was unable to close the deficit.
This week the Bulldogs will travel to Fitzgerald on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
