Community Men In Action is currently accepting entry applications for the annual Martin Luther King (MLK) Parade, which is slated for Monday, January 19.
This year’s parade will center around a theme of unity and peace, as it is titled “Mission Impossible II: Building Community, Uniting A Nation the Nonviolent Way.” Participants are challenged to create entries that embody this theme and that promote a sense of community and togetherness throughout the area. The parade will follow the same route as the Vidalia Christmas Parade, beginning along U.S. Highway 280 at the road’s intersection with Church Street and continuing down the highway until the road’s intersection with Broadfoot Boulevard.
Entries will be accepted until December 31. To enter, email communitymeninaction@ yahoo. com, or call Michael Johnson at (478) 494-8253, Melissa Williams at (912) 293-9438, or Qumi Kelly at (912) 805-9900.
