The Montgomery County Public Library is working to ensure that Christmas cheer is spread to everyone in the area – including nursing home residents – as they craft cards to be delivered to the Glenwood Health Care Nursing Home.

Community members are invited to make their own Christmas cards for the nursing home residents, as well as their families and friends, at the library throughout the month until December 22. “Inside the library, we have put a creation station at one of our tables. At the table, there are various colors of construction paper, punch outs, markers, glue and stickers. As you come in, please stop at the station and create a card for one of the residents,” Library Branch Manager Kelly Stephens explained.

Stephens shared that the nursing home currently has 50 residents and is hoping to provide at least one card to each resident.

The Montgomery County Public Library is located at 215 Railroad Avenue in Mount Vernon. The library is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The library is closed on Fridays and Sundays.
