Soperton Kicks Off Holiday Season with Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

Soperton began the Christmas holiday season with its 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 29.
Families and friends gathered to enjoy holiday music, street vendor foods, crafts and local entertainment under the city’s festive Christmas lights. Children and adults visited downtown for an evening filled with holiday fun topped off by the highlight of the evening, the official lighting of the Christmas Tree.
This year’s ceremony featured a stunning addition, a big beautiful, bright star crowning the top of the tree. The much anticipated arrival of Santa Claus delighted attendees of all ages and added even more to the holiday spirit of the evening.
Soperton Mayor John Koon expressed his gratitude for the community’s strong turnout, noting, “I am very pleased to see everyone come together to support and enjoy this event. I hope to see it continue to grow year after year.” He extended his appreciation to all who contributed to making the celebration a success and wished all Soperton residents a safe and very Merry Christmas.
