MoCo Proposes FY26 Budget

The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners recently held a budget workshop and shared the proposed FY26 budget, which is increased from last year.
The proposed budget totals $6,048,403.89 in both revenues and expenditures, as an increase in revenues has allowed the budget to be increased.
“The budget has increased from last year, but that is because revenues have also increased,” County Manager Heather Scott told attendees during a public hearing.
According to the proposed budget, the sources of revenue include: Tax Revenue — $5,131,008.00 Licenses & Permits — $14,900.00 Intergovernmental Revenues — $299,618.87 Charges for Services — $220,850.00 Fines & Forfeitures — $85,000.00 Investment Income — $18,000.00 Miscellaneous — $14,600.00 Other Financing

A public budget workshop was held last night, and a public hearing was held to listen to the citizens’ concerns about the proposal.
The budget will be voted on at a special called meeting of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, December 8, at the Montgomery County Government Annex.
