Eagles Fall To Portal Panthers

The Montgomery County High School basketball teams fell to the Portal High School Panthers in a doubleheader on Friday night, seeing both the Lady Eagles and the boys' squad come up short against their opponents.

Girls

In the opening matchup, the Lady Eagles faced a tough defensive effort from the Lady Panthers. Despite a hardfought effort on the court, Montgomery County struggled to find their rhythm offensively and ultimately fell to Portal by a final score of 43-28.

Boys

The boys’ game followed a similar trajectory, as the visiting Panthers established dominance early in the contest. Portal came out shooting efficiently, jumping out to a 21-12 lead by the end of the first quarter. The deficit grew in the second period, with the Panthers outscoring the Eagles to take a commanding 38-19 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Montgomery County looked to rally in the second half, but Portal continued to apply pressure, extending their lead to 6231 by the end of the third quarter. The Panthers maintained control through the final frame, going on to win the game over Montgomery County, 70-43.

The Eagles will be back in action after the Thanksgiving break.
