The Vidalia High School Wrestling Program, including girls, boys, and JV, opened the 2025–2026 season this past weekend at Battle at the Bay at Brantley County High School. With mid-November marking the true start of competition, Vidalia’s focus for this tournament was simple: give every wrestler as many matches as possible to build confidence, timing, and technique.
Girls Team
The girls team posted strong early results. Messiah Salem finished the day 5–0, showing impressive control throughout her matches. Imani Hall went 4–1, demonstrating good mat awareness and steady improvement. Abby Hunt also competed, gaining valuable early-season mat time that will help her continue developing throughout the year.
Boys Team
The boys team had 4 wrestlers place. Cayleb Sanford finished 3rd. Alexander Muzafarov finished 3rd. Dylan Kicklighter earned 4th. Christopher Cheeks earned 4th as well. Their efforts showed solid early-season conditioning and competitiveness.
JV Wrestlers
JV wrestlers also gained important match experience. Early-season reps like these help younger athletes improve fundamentals, learn to compete under pressure, and prepare for future varsity contributions.
Vidalia returns to action this coming weekend at Knight Tough at Evans High School.
