THE STAGES OF PUMPKINS — Kindergarten students in Mrs. Lowery and Mrs. Wright’s class at Wheeler County Elementary School learned about pumpkins during the month of October. They learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, as well as the different parts. They finished up the month by reading the story “Pumpkin Jack,” about a little boy named Tim and his pumpkin Jack. The book discusses the life cycle, nature, and transformation of Jack. The class was able to experience a real pumpkin and how it felt. “Yucky” was the favorite word! Students will have the opportunity to observe their pumpkin in class as it goes through different stages.
