showcase for both sides, with neither offense able to break through. The scoreboard remained locked at 14-6, setting the stage for a tense final frame.
The Indians delivered early in the fourth quarter, continuing their ground attack. Running back Kashun Coney powered his way into the end zone for a 2-yard rushing touchdown. While the ensuing 2-point attempt failed, the Indians had cut the Hornets’ lead to 14-12, signaling that the game was far from over.
Unfortunately, the Hornets were able to capitalize on Vidalia turnovers late in the game, ultimately pulling away with 3 unanswered rushing touchdowns in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. The late surge pushed the final score to 35-12.
The entire Vidalia Indians team showed heart and persistence in their final effort of the season. The program will now look to the off-season to prepare and build on the experience gained this year, with the returning players setting their sights on next fall.
