VHA Closes Regular Season With Win

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles football team went on the road to take on the Trojans of Fullington Academy in the final regular season game of the year last Friday night and soared to a dominant 58-20 victory.
The Eagles got off to a blistering start, posting an impressive 44 points in the first half and overwhelming the Trojans on both sides of the ball. The scoring began early in the first quarter with a safety for VHA, followed shortly by a rushing touchdown from Dylan Green, with Jake Adams rushing in the 2-point conversion to make it 10- 0.
Adams continued to be the catalyst for the offense, connecting with Trevor White for a passing touchdown, and then completing a 2-point conversion pass to Pearson O'Neal pushing the lead to 18-0 to close the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the Eagles further extend their lead. White found the end zone again, this time with a rushing touchdown to push the lead to 24-0.
Fullington finally got on the board early in the second quarter with a pass play for a touchdown, but VHA was still out in front, 24-6.
Adams then went back to the air, hitting O'Neal again for a passing touchdown. Adams took one in on the ground for a touchdown of his own, and later tossed another passing touchdown to Green. The final VHA points of the half came when Adams completed a 2-point conversion pass to Green, to make the score 44- 6.
Fullington found the end zone one more time in the first half with less than a minute to go to make the halftime score, 44- 12.
After the halftime break, the scoring spree continued for Vidalia Heritage Academy. Adams threw his fourth passing touchdown of the night, finding White for the second time. The 2-point conversion was completed when Adams passed to Peyton McLain. White then notched his third touchdown of the contest, this time on the ground, securing the final VHA points of the evening.
Fullington Academy managed to score once more in the final quarter, but it was too little, too late. The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles wrapped up their regular season with a convincing 58-20 win over the Trojans. With the regular season now complete, the Eagles will turn their attention to the playoffs.
They will have this week off and will kick off the playoff next Friday.
