RTCA Wins Over Trinity
The Crusader football team of Robert Toombs Christian Academy was on the road last Friday night for their final regular season game of the year. They faced off with Trinity Christian and took the win, 34- 7.
Drew Edwards got the scoring started for the Crusaders as he took it in from 10-yards out. RTCA pushed their lead to 14-0 later in the quarter, and then in the second they got a big defensive play from Britton Tabor. Tabor came down with an interception and returned it 65 yards for the score. Hayden Meeks added another PAT for a 21-0 lead for RTCA.
Later in the second quarter, Edwards broke free from 19 yards out for another RTCA touchdown to take a 27-0 lead.
RTCA found the end zone one more time in the first half of the game when Edwards connected with Meeks for a 26-yard touchdown pass. Meeks added the extra point to give RTCA a 34-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the second half of the game, the Crusaders of RTCA were kept off the board, but the defense did its job as Trinity scored just one touchdown in the second half of the game. That made the final score, 34-7.
RTCA will have this week off and will be in the State Playoffs next week. They will play in the Final 4 and will host Thomas Jefferson next Friday night.
