The Vidalia High School cross country teams showcased exceptional performances at the 3 Rivers Classic held at Jeff Davis High School, with the boys team securing a 2nd place finish behind Bleckley County and nearly every athlete across both teams recording personal best times.

Boys

The boys team had a historic day, with every runner achieving an alltime personal best. Standouts Cash Driggers (with a time of 17:12) and Simon Collins with a time of (17:49) both reached the podium, with Wyatt Vassey breaking through the sub 18 minute barrier as a freshman with a time of 17:57). Greg Taylor, Marvin Onate, Brennan Hammock, and Kartel Lane all broke significant personal barriers, highlighting the team’s depth and determination.

Girls

On the girls’ side, Judith Hussey led the charge with a remarkable time of 21:54, just seconds shy of her all-time best. Her leadership anchored a performance in which nearly every female runner posted personal improvements. Emilyn Campbell dropped over a full minute from her previous best, joined by Dayanna Onate, Stella Siegmund, and Giselle Garcia, each delivering standout efforts.

“This was a breakthrough meet for us,” said Coach Godbee. “Seeing every boy and nearly every girl set personal records speaks volumes about their hard work and dedication. We’re proud of the results, and even more excited for what lies ahead.”

The strong showing at Jeff Davis marks a key milestone in the season for Vidalia, as both teams look to build on their momentum heading into upcoming competitions.
