Vidalia High School Grad Rate Best in School History

Vidalia High School has set a new standard of excellence for their school, as the new graduation rate is the highest in the school’s history.
On Tuesday, September 30, Vidalia City Schools announced that this year’s graduation rate had reached an unprecedented level, as the rate was reported to be 96.8% for the 2024-2025 academic year. This new graduation rate not only demonstrates the dedication of students and staff, but also soars above the state average graduation rate of 87.2%.
The school’s performance also ranks it among the top schools in the state, as the district placed 26th out of the total 193 school districts in Georgia – 134 of which had graduation rates at or above 90%. Only 60 districts, including Vidalia, had a rate
of over 95%. Superintendent Sandy Reid commented on the accomplishment, as she emphasized that this success came from a collective effort of all the schools in the district. 'Our graduation rate is a tremendous achievement, and it speaks to the dedication of our entire team, from Pre-K through 12th grade,” she remarked. “Every teacher, support staff member, and leader has a role in preparing our students for success. Just as important, this success belongs to our families and community, whose commitment and partnership shape our schools each day. Vidalia City Schools is a true reflection of the values, hard work, and pride of the community we serve.'
Vidalia High School administration credited its strong academic support systems, dedicated faculty, and close partnerships with families and the community for its ongoing success.
“At Vidalia High School, we take great pride in the academic achievements of our students, and once again, our SAT scores reflect that commitment,” said Vidalia High School Principal Elis Strobridge. “Being among the highest in the state is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of our community. We will continue to set high expectations and provide our students the tools to succeed at the next level. It's an exciting time to be a part of the VHS family.”
As the district celebrates this milestone achievement, Vidalia City Schools reaffirms its commitment to preparing every student for success and to continuing the values that make the community proud.
