Toombs County Middle School Paraprofessional Clarissa Holloway was recently honored for her dedication and excellence in the classroom, as she was presented with the Empowering Paraprofessionals Into Champions (EPIC) Award for the month of September. The EPIC program is a monthly award system that recognizes employees who go above and beyond their regular duties. These employees are nominated by the peer educators and then selected by an anonymous committee.

Holloway was nominated for the award by the teacher with whom she works, Dana Williamson. “From the moment Clarissa joined the “Crew in 502”, she has shown what it means to jump in with both feet. Coming from an elementary background, I wasn’t sure how comfortable she’d be with middle schoolers. She has quickly adapted to our classroom,” Williamson emphasized. “Rarely absent, Clarissa has morning duty and is always punctual. She has recently become a SPED bus monitor. Clarissa is helpful and ready to do anything that needs to be done. We honestly don’t know what we would do without her!”

To celebrate the occasion, Holloway received a gift from the EPIC Program Prize Patrol, which was presented to her by Special Education Director Sabrina Woodruff and Toombs County Middle School Principal Sidney Spell.
