Register to Vote For Upcoming Election By Oct. 6

Area citizens planning to vote in the upcoming municipal and special Professional Standards Commission elections should make sure that they are registered to vote by October 6.

Statewide, voters will cast their ballots for their choice in the state Professional Standards Commission District 2 Commissioner, as the incumbent Commissioner Tim Echols (R) takes on Alicia Johnson (D), and District 3 Commissioner, as Incumbent Commissioner Fitz Johnson (R) faces Peter Hubbard (D).

In Lyons, citizens living in Ward 1 will be able to select their choice for the City Council seat, as current Councilman Tracy Johnson takes on former Councilman Larry Michael Griggers and James Shell.

Alamo citizens will vote to determine who will serve on three of the City Council At-Large seats during the election. Candidates for these positions are current City Council Members Patricia Woodard and Geoffrey Villegas, Ty’Quez Smith, and Angelia Johnson Wright. These candidates will face each other and the three individuals who receive the most votes will take the seats.

All individuals planning to vote in the election should be registered by October 6. Early voting will begin on October 14 and run through October 31. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 4.
