TCHS Volleyball With 2 Wins
The Toombs County High School volleyball team had a good week as they picked up wins over the Savannah High Lady Bluejackets and the Lady Indians of Vidalia High School. They lost in a tough 3-2 match to Southeast Bulloch, though, to close out the week. vs. Savannah
Toombs won this contest in straight sets over Savannah. Toombs took the first set 25-16, and followed that up with a 25-17 win in the second set to win the match. vs. Vidalia
In this rivalry matchup, the first set was close as Toombs pulled out a 25-22 win over the Lady Indians. But in the second set, TCHS rolled to a 25-12 win to take the match, 2-0. vs. SE Bulloch
The final matchup of the week for the Bulldogs was against the Lady Yellow Jackets of Southeast Bulloch, and this was a battle that went a full five sets.
Toombs got off to a good start as they took the first set 25-21, but the Jackets came back in the second set to win, 25-19. Bulloch won the third set, 25-20, but this time the Bulldogs answered with a 25-22 win in the fourth set to force a tie break.
In the tie break set, Toombs fell behind and couldn't catch up as Bulloch took the win, 15-7, and the match, 3-2.
Toombs is 11-8 overall and they are 6-2 in the Area. This week Toombs hosted Brantley County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at Bryan County to close out the regular season. They will play Bryan County at 5:00 p.m. and then will play Savannah Country Day following that.
