Lady Vikings Split Games

The Lady Vikings softball team of Treutlen County High School split their games last week. They dropped a tough Region game to Telfair County on Tuesday but bounced back with a Region win over Montgomery County on Wednesday.

Treutlen is currently 13-3 overall on the season and they are 6-3 in Region play, sitting in third place in the Region. vs. Telfair Co.

Treutlen jumped into the lead in the bottom of the second inning against the Lady Trojans of Telfair. Treutlen got a run in on an error, and a big double by Kaylyn Kight added another run. Jayden Rogers also came through with an RBI single as the Vikings took a 3-0 lead.

But that was all that Treutlen could score in the game as Telfair took over. The Trojans tied the game 3-3 in the top of the third inning and then took the lead with two more runs in the fifth inning. Telfair added a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh on the way to an 8-3 win. vs. Montgomery Co.

Treutlen cruised to a run rule win over the Lady Eagles of Montgomery on Wednesday of last week. Treutlen took control of the game in the bottom of the first inning. Ella Eoberson had an inside-the-park home run that scored two runs; Ruthie Blair added an inside-the-park home run to push the lead to 4-0. Jada Wright came through with an RBI single, Kenley Kight added an RBI single, and Roberson plated two more runs with a big triple to give the Vikings an 8-0 lead.

Treutlen added two more runs in the second inning and two more in the third as they took the win, 12-0.

This week the Vikings were at McIntosh County Academy on Monday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday on the road at Wilcox County at 6:00 p.m.
