The Swainsboro Rotary Club and Emanuel County Sportsman’s Club is combining efforts to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Retreat, Inc by hosting a Sportsman’s Banquet and Auction on October 16.
The Wounded Warriors Retreat is a Georgia nonprofit organization that helps wounded veterans and their families to enjoy time in the great outdoors. The group’s mission is “to make a difference in the lives of wounded warriors by mentoring, promoting, supporting, and encouraging spiritual healing for wounded warriors and their families while participants enjoy the many outdoor activities offered by the private hunting reserve.”
For the past thirteen years, the Swainsboro Rotary Club and Emanuel County Sportsman’s Club have come together to host the Sportsman’s Banquet and Auction fundraiser, which helps to fund these retreats. Currently, the group is looking for event sponsors, who will receive a plaque and additional tickets for the gun raffle that will be occurring during the banquet. Sponsorships are available for various donations, ranging from $200 to $1,000, and providing from 3 extra gun raffle tickets to 50 extra gun raffle tickets. The clubs are also soliciting items for the auction, and ask that anyone willing to donate an item contacts the group as soon as possible.
The banquet will be held at 5 p.m. at the Beaver Creek Plantation, located at 369 Highway 80 East in Twin City, on October 16. Tickets to the banquet are $60 each, and include admission to the banquet, a beef tenderloin dinner, and one ticket for the gun drawing. Tickets must be purchased prior to the date of the event.
