MCHS Falls To Taylor Co.

The Montgomery County High School Eagles football team were at home against Taylor County last week. The Eagles fell to the Vikings 32- 8.

Taylor didn't waste any time as they marched down the field and scored on a run from three yards out to put the first points on the board with 10:46 still left in the first quarter. Taylor added to that lead late in the first quarter with under a minute to go. They moved the ball down the field and connected on a 10-yard pass play to extend their lead to 12-0.

The Viking added a 26-yard touchdown pass with 5:54 left in the first half to put them on top, 18-0. Then after stopping the Eagles and taking over on downs at their own 35-yard line, Taylor hit a 65-yard touchdown pass down the right side. That put them on top, 24-0. This time they were successful on the twopoint conversion to make it, 26-0 with 3:21 left in the first half.

Taylor added one more score on the second play of the fourth quarter to give them a 32-0 lead.

MCHS finally got on the board with 2:45 left in the game on a 5-yard touchdown run by Elijah McEwen. There was a dropped snap on the extra point, but Jaquez Kelly picked up the ball and ran it in for a twopoint conversion, making the score 32-8, which was the way the game ended.

MCHS is now 1-3 on the season. They will be at Telfair County this Friday night at 7:30 pm.
