Lady Vikings With 2 Wins

The Treutlen County High School Lady Vikings softball team had a successful week, picking up two wins over the Lady Red Devils of Hawkinsville and the Lady Demons of Warner Robins. Treutlen is now 11-2 on the season, and they are 5-2 in Region action. vs. Hawkinsville

On Tuesday, the Lady Vikings defeated Hawkinsville 10-0. Treutlen scored the first runs in the bottom of the second inning on two home runs by Jayden Rogers and Kaylyn Kight. That put the Vikings on top, 3-0. They added a run in the third on an RBI hit by Cloey Hutcheson for a 4-0 lead.

Then in the fourth inning, they plated six more runs on the way to the 10-0 win. vs. Warner Robins

The Lady Vikings continued their winning streak on Wednesday with a 5-0 victory over Warner Robins. Ella Roberson delivered another stellar pitching performance, striking out 14 batters and allowing only four hits and zero earned runs over seven innings.

The offense got on the board in the first inning after a passed ball scored one run. In the third inning, Taylor Gillis came through with an RBI single, and then she later scored on a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 3- 0.

The Vikings added another run in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth as they took the win, 5-0.

This week Treutlen hosted Telfair County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back on the diamond on Wednesday against Montgomery County at home at 5:30 p.m.
