In Ms. Elder and Mrs. Hess’ Pre-K class at Wheeler County Elementary School, the children are exploring the exciting topic of The Five Senses.

Through hands-on activities, stories, and songs, the students are learning how we use our eyes to see, our ears to hear, our nose to smell, our mouth to taste, and our skin to touch.

Each day this week, the class has engaged in playful learning experiences, such as tasting different foods, listening to environmental sounds, feeling a variety of textures, and identifying scents. These activities not only make learning fun and interactive but also help children build vocabulary, strengthen observation skills, and make connections to the world around them.

By studying the five senses, Ms. Elder and Mrs. Hess provide meaningful opportunities for their students to develop curiosity and deepen their understanding of how their bodies help them explore and learn.
