Treutlen Elementary School recently announced several students that were selected for the monthly Character Kids award, which recognizes students for displaying excellent character traits inside the classroom.
Each month, students at Treutlen Elementary School learn about a specific character trait and practice displaying that character trait in their everyday lives. At the end of each month, each homeroom teacher selects one student that they felt strongly demonstrated the monthly characteristic. Each student chosen was presented with a Certificate of Character and had the opportunity to eat lunch on the stage so that they could be recognized by their peers.
The character trait for the month of August was “respect.”
Recipients of the Character Kids Award were Kindergarteners Reba Roberson, Liam Mimbs, Ny’Sir Christian, and Ian Byrd; First Graders Drake Hughes, Egan Byrd, MJ Richardson, and David Beasley; Second Graders River Rogers, Sahara White, Paxton Heath, and Zylan Latimer; Third Graders Bryson Wells, Jayda Giles, Mason Dykes, and Jeremiah Nelson; Fourth Graders Samyra Provencher, Breonna Wadley, Madelyn Grace, and Penni Lawrence, and Fifth Graders Heidi Martin, Jessa Giles, and London Phillips.
