Lady Barons Downed By Mobile & Faulkner

The Lady Barons volleyball team of Brewton-Parker Christian University took on the Lady Rams of the University of Mobile and the Lady Eagles of Faulkner University. vs. Mobile

In a challenging conference opener, the Brewton- Parker Christian University Barons faced a tough match against the University of Mobile Rams on September 5, 2025, at Mount Vernon, GA. The Barons were defeated in straight sets with scores of 10-25, 16-25, and 15-25.

The first set saw the Barons struggling to gain momentum as the Rams took an early lead, closing out the set 25-10. The second set saw the Barons try to claw back the momentum, with Brewton-Parker improving their performance slightly, though still ending the set at 16-25 in favor of Mobile. The final set continued in a similar vein with the Barons attempting a rally but ultimately falling 15-25 to the Rams. Key performances from the Barons included Andriana de Jesus, who led the team with five kills and contributed two aces. Raphaela Felisberto made notable efforts with one kill, one block, and a teamhigh 12 assists while also sharing the team lead in digs with Taylor Lamontagne and Claire Slocumb, each earning 5 and 6 digs, respectively. Alana Garcia, Taylor Lamontagne, and Andriana de Jesus contributed to the serving game with a total of 6 aces among them.

Head Coach Obed Quiles shared his thoughts on the performance, 'We didn't play our game tonight. We know we are capable of playing at a higher level. We have the chance to bounce back tomorrow against Faulkner and will turn our focus to that.' vs. Faulkner

In a pivotal conference volleyball contest on September 6, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons were defeated by Faulkner University at a final tally of 3-0. Faulkner showcased a formidable challenge to the Barons throughout the three-set match.

The initial set was fiercely competitive, with Faulkner narrowly clinching the win at 25-23. Momentum shifted significantly in the second set, where Faulkner pulled ahead early and secured a 25-14 victory. The final set saw a spirited effort from the Barons, but they ultimately fell 25-20, concluding the match in favor of Faulkner. Notable performances from the Barons included Ryann Prince and Amelie Sroka, both contributing five kills each, while Taylor Lamontagne added four kills and led defensively with 11 digs. On the blocking front, Mobley Amme and Felisberto Raphaela stood out with three blocks each. In terms of service aces and assists, Felisberto made significant contributions with one ace and 15 assists.

Coach Obed Quiles reflected on the team's performance, emphasizing the need for improvement: 'We need to keep working on cleaning the game on our side. We are really close to making the adjustments. Now the girls need to believe it.'
