returned it just one yard for a touchdown. A successful two-point conversion via a pass briefly cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 208, providing a moment of unease for the home crowd.

However, any hope of a South Effingham comeback was quickly extinguished by a ferocious offensive explosion from the Bulldogs. Toombs County went on a scoring spree, racking up a stunning 35 points in the third quarter alone. Quarterback Joseph Owens (No. 12) kick-started the surge, connecting with Nick Carroll (No. 2) for a massive 53-yard passing touchdown.

From that point on, the Bulldogs were unstoppable. Powell continued his dominant night, scoring on a 26-yard run, followed by a breakaway 55-yard touchdown from running back Donterrius Mincey (No. 11). Not to be outdone, Powell then found the end zone for a third time on a 43-yard scamper. Owens capped off the incredible offensive display with another long passing touchdown, this one a 63-yard strike to a receiver wearing No. 25. The Bulldogs' kicker, Alex Otero, was perfect on all five of his thirdquarter PATs, showcasing the team's efficiency in every aspect of the game.

With a commanding 55-8 lead heading into the final quarter, the Toombs County defense and special teams held strong, keeping the Mustangs from scoring again. The Bulldogs did not add any points in the fourth quarter, content to run out the clock and secure the dominant victory. The powerful second-half performance demonstrated the team's depth and resilience, leaving no doubt about their control of the game.

Joseph Owens had a breakout performance in the game as he went 1930 passing for 344 yards and 2 touchdowns. Justin Powell put up 119 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 9 carries, and Gavin Fletcher had 119 yards receiving on 4 receptions with 1 touchdown.

Toombs is out to a solid 3-0 start to the season. This week will be a big challenge for them as they head to Rome to take on the Wolves. Last year the upset of Rome was the game that put them on the map on the way to a State Championship. This year Rome will be looking for revenge on the Bulldogs. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
