scoring 8 runs on 4 hits to take an 8-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Tori Polke that drove in 2 runs.

Toombs came back with 5 runs in the bottom of the frame to close the lead to 8-6, but 4 more runs from VHS in the top of the fifth inning, including a base clearing double from Paisley Ledford put them on top, 12-6. VHS added 2 more in the sixth inning to make it, 14-6.

Toombs did plate 3 more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, but 2 more from VHS in the top of the seventh gave the Indians a 16-9 victory.

Paisley Ledford led the charge with a standout performance, driving in 4 runs on 2 hits, including a double in the fifth inning and a single in the fourth. Tori Polke earned the win for Vidalia, striking out 10 batters over 7 innings, allowing 9 runs (4 earned) and walking 4. vs. Wayne Co.

On Wednesday, VHS fell to Wayne County 10-3. The Lady Yellow Jackets broke the game open with 8 runs in the second inning, a deficit Vidalia couldn't overcome. Anastyn Blewett took the loss for Vidalia, giving up 10 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, striking out 1 and walking 3 over 2 innings. Aubrey Jones pitched in relief for 4 innings, surrendering only 1 hit and 2 runs (zero earned).

Vidalia did score a run in the third inning and 2 more in the fifth inning, but it was not enough as they lost the game, 10-3. vs. Jeff Davis

The week ended with a 13-1 loss to Jeff Davis at the Jeff Davis Diamond Day on Saturday. Vidalia's offense was held in check, collecting only 3 hits, with Deidra Boston, Aubrey Jones, and Tori Polke each getting one.

Jeff Davis jumped out to an early lead, scoring 5 runs in the first inning. They added 8 more runs in the second inning. VHS scored their only run of the game in the top of the third inning on a hit by Deidra Boston. vs. ACE

A scheduled game against the Academy for Classical Education on Saturday was called due to weather in the eighth inning, but it was a good game up until that point.

VHS took the early lead with a run in the top of the first inning. ACE came back with 2 in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead. The Indians went back on top in the sixth inning with 2 more runs to lead, 3-2. VHS extended that lead on a 2-run home run by Boston in the top of the sixth inning.

ACE came back to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with 3 runs, making the score 5-5. Neither team scored in the seventh inning, sending the game to extra innings.

In the top of the eighth inning Sadie Berry came through with a base clearing triple that scored Polke, Boston, and Ledford to give the Indians an 8-5 lead. Blewett followed that with a line drive into center to push the lead to 9-5.

But in the top of the eighth inning with 2 outs, the game was called due to weather with the Indians in the lead, 9-5.

This week VHS took on Wayne County on Monday after press time. They will be back in action on Thursday at Savannah Christian at 6:00 p.m.
