But just after that the game went into a lightning delay that lasted around and hour. When they came out of that, it didn’t take long for the Bulldogs to get the offense back on track.

The second quarter was a testament to the Bulldogs' depth and offensive versatility. Powell was a force to be reckoned with, scoring two more rushing touchdowns. With approximately 10 minutes left in the half, he broke free for a 4-yard score, and then, with six minutes to go, he powered his way in from 22 yards out, completing his first-half hat-trick. Otero's perfect kicking continued, bringing the score to 28-0.

But the Bulldogs weren't done yet. In the final minute of the half, they showcased their passing game. Quarterback Joseph Owens delivered a perfectly placed 21-yard pass to senior wide receiver Gavin Fletcher, who hauled it in for a touchdown. Otero's fifth successful extra point of the night sent the Bulldogs into halftime with a comfortable 35-0 lead.

While the second half saw the Bulldogs score another touchdown to reach the final score of 42-0, the story of the night was the first half's dominant display. There was also a running clock throughout the second half of play. The defense, which was stout all night long, held the Bobcats' offense in check, preventing them from ever getting a foothold in the game. It was a complete team effort and a promising start for the Toombs County Bulldogs.

Toombs will be on the road this Friday as they travel to Albany to take on the Trojans of Dougherty. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
