This year, the Treutlen County High School Marching Vikings will use their halftime show to remember one of the most popular secret agents of the century: James Bond.
Laura Freund will be leading the Treutlen County band for the fourth consecutive year, marking her 24th year of experience as a band director. “I am looking forward to hopefully marching more this season,” she remarked. “I am also excited about how the band sounds this early in the season.”
Freund shared that audiences can expect to hear classic hits from the James Bond cinema franchise, such as “Live and Let Die” and “Gold Finger.” She accredited the band’s success to the collaborative work that she, Color Guard Coaches Megan Moore and Caitlee Williams, and Visual Assistant Chester Proctor completes in an effort to help the students to be their best.
Braylon Bell will serve as the band’s drum major for the second year in a row. “He is an invaluable member of our group,” Freund emphasized. Several students have stepped up to lead alongside the adults. These students are Rebecca Quinn, Aaliyah Richards, Jayden Rozier, Rhyland Boatwright, Ella Mixon, Mhalee Chester, Aziah Bah, and Isaiah Rayburn.
Other band members include Seniors Alyssa Harper and Jayden Wesley, Isaac Barahona, Shaniece Thompkins, Zaylee Morrison, Caleb Ring, Matthew Lumley, Evalee Morris, Keili Jones, Larriunna Powell, Abigaile Walker, Addison Evans, Amari Boynon, Endreia Clark, Jalaysia Lovett, Kenya Harden, Lily Boone, Zare’Ah Griffin, Kailey Taylor, Kayleigh Horton, Shamiria Thompkins, Zoey Odom, Jude Van Doran, Kaia Rogers, Brooklyn Beasley, Collin Black, Estela Heitz, Hailey Fraser, Kate Medders, Ryleigh Barrick, Kenlee Harden, Dylan McGuinn, and Leo Brinson.
Spectators at the Treutlen County High School Vikings football games can expect the band to bring the atmosphere to life during half time, as they share the story of .007 through music.
