The Brewton-Parker Barons are set to kick off the 2025 fall sports season with the men's and women's cross-country teams taking center stage. The Barons will compete in six invitationals and host one for the 2025 season. The Barons will kick off their season at the Julius Johnson Invitational on August 30th, being hosted in Macon, Ga., at Mercer University.

The Barons competed last year and improved from every invitational. The Barons then have two events to participate in during September, starting with the University of North Georgia Invitational on the 12th and then hosting the Brewton-Parker Christian University Invitational on the 26th. October sees the Barons head to the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, for the Sand Shark Invitational on the 11th and then head to the NAIA App Challenge on the 24th. The Barons will then head into the SSAC postseason meet on November 7th to compete for a conference title.

Catching up with Head Coach James Frank, he shared his thoughts on last season and his hopes for the upcoming season. 'Last year was tough. We lost approximately three weeks of training, and as a result, we were unable to attend our two biggest meets due to the hurricane. The effort was there, but circumstances made it difficult to reach our full potential. We have seven men returning and 10 freshmen joining the team. Even though we will be young, I expect improvement over last year.'

The Barons are excited to see the return of Eric Smith and Jacob Hackenberry for their senior season. Hackenberry faced some injuries last season but is expected to have a strong season if he remains healthy. The Barons also return senior DJ Christensen, who posted the fastest time for the Barons last year and is expected to break his PR this season. The Barons are looking to see improvements from junior Jonah Gali and sophomore Zamarvian Greene, who both saw significant advancements at the end of the Track and Field season and are expected to carry over into the Cross Country Season.

The Barons have nine recruits joining the team this season, with the potential to develop into excellent collegiate runners. Santiago Reynolds, Trey Sirmans, Samuel Skinner, and Jayden Knight are incoming freshmen. The coaching staff has high hopes of making an immediate impact on the team's success.
