VRD vs. Coffee Co.

Up next for Vidalia was Coffee County. This was a much closer game with VRD getting some last inning heroics to come away with a one-run win.

Coffee picked up a run in the bottom of the first inning, and added two more in the second to take a 3-0 lead over Vidalia. Vidalia finally got on the board with two runs in the top of the third inning, but Coffee scored two more in the fourth as they led 5-2.

Vidalia closed the lead to 5-3 in the fifth inning, and then in the sixth inning with two runners on base, Colt Page blasted a threerun home run to center field to put Vidalia on top, 6-5. They held in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the win by that score.

VRD vs. Wayne Co.

In the semifinals of the winners' bracket, Vidalia met up with Wayne County. Wayne scored first, with a run in the top of the first inning, but Vidalia came back with two runs in the bottom of the frame. The first came on a sacrifice fly by Ethan Holmes, the second run came in on an error by Wayne.

Vidalia added another run in the third inning on another Wayne County error, giving VRD a 3-1 lead. Vidalia scored one more run in the fourth inning on the way to a 4-1 win.

VRD vs. Coffee Co.

Championship That moved Vidalia into the Championship Game, where they took on Coffee County in a rematch. It was another close game, but Vidalia came out on top as the State Champions.

Coffee plated two runs in the top of the first inning, but Vidalia answered with four runs in the bottom half of the frame. Kace Rush drove in the first run for Vidalia, and then with the bases loaded, Brinson Martin cleared them off with a three-run double.

Vidalia added a run in the second inning, and two more in the third inning on a home run by Holmes, and a sacrifice by Martin. That put VRD on top 7-2.

But Coffee picked up a run in the fourth, and they scored four more in the fifth inning to tie the game at 7-7. But Vidalia again answered as they got a tworun home run from Kam Bacon to give VRD a 9-7 lead.

Vidalia held in the top of the sixth inning to get the win, and the Championship, 9-7.
