Godbee Signs At Congressman Allen’s Service Academy Ceremony

Vidalia High School Class of 2025 Graduate Jack Godbee recently celebrated his appointment to the United States Naval Academy during a special signing day ceremony held by Congressman Rick Allen (GA-12) in Augusta on Friday, June 20.

Congressman Allen hosted the ceremony to celebrate the 9 graduates within his district that will be attending service academies, such as the United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, United States Military Academy, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

Godbee was appointed to the United States Naval Academy in April, as he signed and accepted an academic scholarship to the institution. His appointment follows in the footsteps of his older brothers, one who serves in the U.S. Marine Corps and another who currently attends West Point.

Allen commented on the occasion, stating, 'It is extremely gratifying to nominate such qualified young leaders from our district to usher in this new generation of servicemen and women. I am honored to show our support for these selfless young students whose commitment to service and our great nation is truly remarkable. I have every confidence that these young leaders will go on to make the state of Georgia, and the United States of America, very proud.'
