Walmart of Vidalia recently helped to support the Mercy Ministries nonprofit medical clinic, as the business presented the organization with a $2,500 Spark Good Grant.

The Spark Good Grant serves to allow Walmart stores to invest in the community around them, as the grant serves to help organizations and schools to address specific needs in the community and bring people together. Mercy Ministries was selected as the recipient of this grant because of their mission to provide quality healthcare to underserved populations within the community.

Applications for the Spark Good Grant are currently open until July 15, and then will be reviewed by a committee to determine recipients. Only 501c3 public charities, government entities, schools, and churches or other faith-based organizations with a proposed project that benefits the community at large are eligible to apply.

For more information about the grant, call (912) 537-0889.
