Pineland Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is extremely saddened to announce the passing of our Chief Executive Officer, June DiPolito, who passed away in the early morning of June 8 at the age of 78.
Dipolito has been with Pineland BHDD since 1972 as the Director of High Hope. She became Pineland’s CEO in 2000. Di-Polito’s heart was dedicated to service, and the number of lives she touched is immeasurable. She expanded intellectual and developmental disability services during her tenure. She was a champion for the individuals that Pineland serves as well as their families. She was a strong advocate for “safety net services” and did not hesitate to reach out to legislators and political figures to ensure they understood the best interests of Pineland’s individuals.
Her favorite story was “The Little Engine That Could,” which became the mantra for her life’s work. She always believed that there was more inside of each of us; we simply needed someone to believe in us. Pineland will be forever grateful for her contributions, her enduring spirit, and her quest to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.
Pineland BHDD extends its condolences to June DiPolito’s family and loved ones during this time. Pineland has appointed Dr. Cynthia Cone-Dekle as the interim CEO to oversee operations during this transition.
