The score stayed that way until the top of the sixth inning when Lyons went on a run and plated nine more runs. That extended the lead to 18-3.

Effingham did score three runs in the bottom of the sixth, but Lyons took the win, 18-6.

VRD vs. Emanuel

Up next for Vidalia was Emanuel County. Emanuel scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning, but Vidalia answered in the top of the third with five runs. Vidalia had four RBI singles in the inning as they went ahead, 5-1.

Emanuel answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to close the lead to 5-4, and they then tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the fourth inning. But Vidalia plated five runs in the top of the fifth inning as they jumped out to a 10-5 lead.

Emanuel scored two more in the bottom of the fifth, and then each team scored a run in the sixth as Vidalia went on to win the game, 11-8.

LRD vs. VRD

That set up Lyons and Vidalia in the semifinals of the winners' bracket. Lyons was the better team on this day as they got the win over their rival.

Vidalia scored their only run of the game in the top of the first inning on an error. Lyons took the lead in the bottom of the inning with three runs on a couple of singles and a sacrifice. That put LRD on top, 3-1.

Lyons added four more runs in the second inning to push thir lead to 7-1. Neither team could do anything else in the game as Lyons took the win, 7-1 to advance to the Championship Game.

VRD vs. Emanuel Co.

After the loss to Lyons, Vidalia moved down into the semifinals of the losers' bracket for a rematch with Emanuel County. It was another close game, with Vidalia again coming out the victor.

It was a pitching and defensive dual over the first four innings, with neither team scoring a run. But in the bottom of the fifth inning, Emanuel made the first move as they got a run across to take a 1-0 lead over Vidalia.

Vidalia answered big in the top of the sixth and final inning with five runs. VRD only had two hits in the inning, but several errors by Emanuel aided in the scoring for VRD. Vidalia then held Emanuel to just one run in the bottom of the inning to take the win, 5-2.

LRD vs. VRD

Championship Game 1

Vidalia got revenge in the Championship as they took the first game over Lyons to force a Game 2 to decide the winner.

Vidalia scored their first run of the game in the top of the second inning, and then added three more in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead over Lyons. Vidalia opened the game up in the fourth with four more runs to extend their lead to 8-0.

Vidalia held Lyons scoreless to take the win, 8-0 and force a second and deciding game.

Game 2

In the second game, Vidalia again took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. But this time Lyons got the bats going as they scored five runs on six hits in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead, 5-2.

Vidalia plated a run in the top of the fourth inning to close the lead to 5-3, but another run from Lyons in the fifth pushed the lead to 6-3. Lyons held in the top of the sixth to take the win, 6-3, and to win the Championship.

Both Lyons and Vidalia will now move on to play in the GRPA State Tournament next week in Lyons. Lyons will play their first game on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., and Vidalia will play on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
