Patrol Operation Promotes Road Safety in Vidalia

The Vidalia Police Department worked alongside the Georgia State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Southeastern Regional Drug Task Force, GBI Region 12 Office, and Toombs County Sheriff’s Office to promote road safety in the city through a concentrated patrol operation on Friday, May 23.

During this operation, law enforcement officials heavily patrolled the city, as several drivers were pulled over for traffic infractions. These routine traffic stops led to several enforcement actions, including 63 citations issued, 92 warnings given, 4 Driving Under the Influence (DUI) arrests, 5 felony drug arrests, 1 misdemeanor drug arrest, 2 additional misdemeanor arrests, and 4 warrant services executed.

The event was part of the city’s ongoing effort to enhance traffic safety, deter criminal activity, and strengthen interagency collaboration.

Vidalia Police Chief Rob Shore commented on the event, as he shared his appreciation to the agencies that helped make this operation a success. “Joint efforts like this are vital in keeping our roadways and community safe,” he emphasized.
