Wheeler County School Board Makes Personnel Changes

In a called meeting which went into executive session on April 28, the Wheeler County Board of Education dealt with a number of personnel changes.

The Board reported the following actions were taken in the executive session: • e resignations of Peggy White and Hal Ford, which were unanimously accepted.

• Quent Floyd was unanimously approved as Deputy Superintendent of Operations Also, the following job title changes were unanimously approved: • Melanie Knight, Ex ecutive Director of Teaching and Learning and Federal Programs.

• Benji Hartley, Dean of Students 6-12 • Kelly Blount, Assis tant Principal of Instruction 6-12 • April Williams, Guidance Counselor 6-12.

In the open portion of the April 28 session, Superintendent Dr. C. Alex Alvarez reported that Georgia Power has been contacted to complete a rate analysis on all property serviced by them (on school grounds) as there are some old minimum charges in place on buildings that are not in use. More information on this issue is expected at the next Board session on May 12.
