Eagles Get One Win
The Montgomey County High School Eagles basketball teams won just one out of six games last week on the hardcourt. The boys pulled out a win over Telfair County on Saturday at home for the lone win on the week. MCHS also played against Toombs County and Wilcox County last week.
Girls vs. Toombs
TCHS was up 15-3 a the end of the first, but MCHS closed the gap in the second. At halftime Toombs was in front, 1912.
In the second half, the Lady Bulldogs of Toombs pulled away and took the win, 36-23.
Boys vs. Toombs
Toombs held the early lead and were up 14-7 at the end of the first. MCHS played better in the second, but were trailing 2724 at the end of the first half.
In the third, Toombs started to pull away as they went on to win the game over the Eagles, 63-47.
Girls vs. Wilcox
Wilcox rolled past the Lady Eagles on Friday in Mt. Vernon. At the end of the first, the score was 226, and at the end of the first half, the Lady Patriots were leading 32-19. Wilcox went on to win the game, 56-26.
Boys vs. Wilcox
In the boys' game, MCHS couldn't keep up as
the Patriots came away with the win, 54-42.
Girls vs. Telfair
It was a big third quarter for Telfair that propelled them past the Lady Eagles. MCHS tailed 11-5 at the end of the first, and were down, 19-13, at halftime.
In the third, Telfair outscored the Eagles 27-4 to pull away on as they went on to win the game, 57-31.
Boys vs. Telfair
The boys picked up the only win of the week on Saturday against the Trojans of Telfair. It was a close game throughout, but MCHS pulled it out, 49-46.
This week the Eagles will host Treutlen County on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
