The Lyons Recreation Department's 10u Girls softball team came in second place in the GRPA State Tournament last week in Effingham County. vs. Summerville
Summerville was up first for LRD, and it was a battle. It came down to just one run as Lyons took the win 14-13. vs. Emanuel County
Up next was Emanuel County. Things did not go Lyons' way as Emanuel got the bats going and rolled to a win. The final score was 19-8 with LRD losing. vs. Effingham County
Lyons bounced back with a win in the losers' bracket against Effingham County. Lyons plated 18 runs in the game while holding Effingham to just 1. That gave LRD an 18-1 win. vs. Summerville
In the next game for LRD, they took on Summerville again. This time Lyons rolled to the win as they came out on top, 13- 5. vs. Emanuel County
Now it was time for a rematch with Emanuel County, and this time LRD came out on top. Lyons took the win 1411, in a close game. That win sent LRD into the Championship Game against Coffee County. vs. Coffee County Championship Game Game 1 Lyons gave it their all in the Championship Game, but came up just short to Coffee County. LRD lost the game 10-8 to claim second place in the State Tournament.
