Vidalia will host its annual Independence Day Celebration at Ronnie A. Dixon City Park on Thursday, July 4. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.; live music will begin at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. No coolers or pets allowed. Back to School

Author Visits


The Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library will host children’s book author Kimberly Ann Purvis to share her crafts and books with kids, up to age 10, on Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Books will be available for purchase; parents are asked to stay with their child.
