Three Wins For Heritage

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team was busy last week as they took on Thomas Jefferson on Monday at home, hosted Community Christian for a double header on Tuesday and then were at Pinewood Christian on Thursday. The Eagles won all of the games except against the Patriots of Pinewood, which they lost in a pitching dual by one run. The Eagles are now 13-3-1 on the season and are 3-0 in Region play. vs. TJ

Dalton Price was in control on the mound for VHA against the Jaguars of Thomas Jefferson. He allowed just two hits while striking out 11 batters in a run away win for Heritage.

Heritage took the lead in the second inning on a ball hit by Hardy Franklin, and then a fielder's choice by Greer Posey put VHA up 2-0. TJ scored a run in the top of the third inning to close the lead to 2-1.

Luke Moxley drove in a run for VHA in the third inning, and then in the fifth the Eagles broke the game open with seven runs. Franklin doubled in two runs, JT Cofield singled in a run, Ledger Curl drove in two with a single, and Price plated two runs with a single as VHA pushed their lead to 10-1.

VHA added two more in the sixth inning on the way to a 12-1 win over the Jaguars. vs. CCA Game 1 VHA rolled to a pair of wins in the double header against Community Christian by a combined scored of 311.

In the first game of the day, Posey threw a four inning no hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Heritage to the win.

CCA picked up a run in the top of the first inning on an error, but that was all they got in the game. Heritage scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a three-run double by Price. VHA added a run in the second inning make the lead, 7-1.

VHA scored two more in the third on a Cofield single and a Maddyx Herrin sacrifice fly to lead 9-1. They capped off the win with seven more in the fourth inning. An error, a two-run single by Peearson O'Neal, a two-run single by Judd Wilkes, Posey drove in a run, and Price drove in a run as VHA took the win, 16-1.

Game 2

In the second game, Herrin scored on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. In the second inning, they loaded the bases and a walk by RJ Wells brought in a run for VHA, and they took a 3-0 lead on a Jake Adams sacrifice fly.

In the top of the third inning, the Eagles took control as they plated seven more runs. Trevor White had an RBI double, Franklin drove in a run, O'Neal hit one in, Adams drove in two runs, Herrin picked up an RBI, and Posey picked up an RBI single. That put VHA on top 10-0.

VHA added two more runs in the fourth inning and three in the top of the fifth inning as they won the game by the run rule, 15-0. vs. Pinewood

It was a tough game for the Eagles as the Patriots took the win, 1-0. The game was scoreless through five innings as Cofield had been in control on the mound for the Eagles. But in the bottom of the sixth, Pinewood loaded the bases, and a walk brought in the only run of the game.

Pinewood had just four hits in the game and the Eagles had just three in the pitching dual.

The Eagles have this week off for Spring Break, and will get back to action next week.
