TCHS Golf Off To Good Start

The Toombs County High School Bulldogs golf team have kicked off their season. They competed recently at Circlestone Country Club in Adel, Georgia, in their first tournament and then were at the 1902 Cup in Savannah last week. They then took on ECI to close out the week.

On Monday, February 19, the Toombs County Men’s Golf team opened their season at Circlestone Country Club in Adel, Georgia.

The inaugural tournament had a scramble format that provided a unique start to the season. The Bulldogs placed 4th in the event with a team score of 158. Drew Woodruff (So) and Vick Moore (So) led the Bulldogs with a team score of 75.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday, February 26, to compete in the 1902 Cup hosted by Benedictine Military School.

1902 Cup

On Monday, the boys competed in the 1902 Cup hosted by Benedictine Military School at the prestigious Savannah Golf Club. The team combined for a solid score of 357, led by Sophomore Vick Moore who carded an impressive 85. at Swainsboro Tuesday saw the Toombs County boys and girls golf teams travel to Swainsboro for a match against Emanuel County Institute, and it proved to be a day of double victories. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams emerged victorious in their respective matchups.

The boys dominated with a combined score of 183, with Vick Moore once again leading the pack with a stellar score of 42. The girls also delivered a strong performance, finishing with a combined score of 113. Sophomore Sarah Ellis Walker impressed with the low score for the match, carding a 53.

The momentum is high for the Toombs County golf team as they gear up for their next challenges. They were back in action on Monday on this week in Alma after presstime competing in the Byron Ray Invitational hosted by Bacon County.
