TCHS Tennis Opens Season

Recently the Toombs County High School boys' and girls' tennis teams traveled to Vidalia for their first tennis match of the season. For many players, this was their first tennis match ever.

Toombs coaches said, “We were very proud of how they carried themselves and applied the skills we have been practicing to prepare for the season.”

Both teams played very hard. In fact, Russell Hart and Mario Rojas-Perez, who play second doubles, went into a tiebreaker in their first set. TCHS's first doubles team for the girls, Melea Pittman and Scarlett Stanley, won their match against Vidalia. Ella Kate Adams and Katie Lee Brodnax also beat Vidalia’s second doubles team. Despite the boys' and girls' teams not winning the entire match, there were many little victories throughout the day.
