State Senator Blake Tillery (R-Vidalia) has been appointed to serve on the recently-developed Senate Special Committee on Investigations to probe all egations against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. “The Fulton County District Attorney’s office receives approximately $10 million in state funds and copious amounts of federal funding in addition to over $30 million of local funds annually,” Tillery commented on the case. “Allegations that these funds were misspent or siphoned for personal gain are serious and concerning and potentially jeopardize funds for other communities.”

The committee was appointed by Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones to investigate Willis’s alleged misuse of funding by hiring an ill-equipped and inexperienced special case prosecutor, Atlanta attorney Nathan Wade, with whom Willis has been accused of being romantically involved.

Willis hired Wade to prosecute those involved in an election interference investigation case bringing charges against former President Donald Tr u m p and others. Upon the issuance of a 10-count indictment for several allegations of misconduct against these accused individuals, Willis brought Wade on board, paying him a six-figure salary from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Tillery will join five other Republican senators and three Democrat senators to investigate the case.
