WHEELER COUNTY STUDENTS LEARN WITH WORD GAMES — Research has shown that word games are a great way not only to build vocabulary but also to relieve stress, improve focus, and enhance memory absorption with young learners. Mrs. Newsom’s 5th grade ELA classes at Wheeler County Elementary School use free and quick (2-3 minute) word games as a way to refocus and end their class time. Games like Wordle, Connections, and Boggle are fun ways to build vocabulary. We encourage you to play one of these quick games at home with your students. Make sure to discuss word meanings as you play. In the photo: Makinezi Fowler, Kirzah Carswell, Lily Bales, and Alfreda Carlton.
