Indians Named All-Region

Vidalia High School's Antonio Barron has been named Region 3AA Co-Athlete of The Year as voted on by the Region 3AA Head Football Coaches. Three other Indians, Jamarion Phillips, Max Beverly, and Sam Sapp, also were named to All Region First Teams.

Barron, a senior who rushed for 980 yards and caught 21 passes for 431 yards, scored a total of 19 TD’s including a returned kick for a touchdown.

Phillips, who pounded defenses with his hard running style, ended the year with 514 yards and 7 TDs was named to the 1st team offense along with Beverly, who anchored the offensive line for the Indians. Sapp, a Junior linebacker, was named to the 1st team defense.

Ronald Pointer and Levi Palmer were both named to the 2nd team defense, while Lehmon Thomas, Deante Terrell, Carson Ricks, and Alton Boyles all received Honorable Mention.
