Lady Eagles Ranked #4 In State

The Montgomery County High School Eagles basketball teams took on Vidalia and Wheeler County last week. The Lady Eagles are now 4-0 on the season and are ranked #4 in the state. The boys are 1-2 on the season and are struggling to find their rhythm.

Girls vs. Vidalia

MCHS rolled to a big win over VHS as they dominated the game from the start.MCHS led 20-5 at the end of the first quarter and they pushed that lead to 33-10 at halftime. continued from page

MCHS was on top 49-17 heading to the fourth quarter, with the Lady Eagles winning the game 61- 25.

MCHS was led by Marley Bell with 30 points, Trinity Wideman added 14, and Amire Banks scored 8 in the win.

Boys vs. Vidalia

It was a very slow start for both teams as the offenses could not get shots to fall. But by the midway of the second quarter the Indians had pulled out to a 24-10 lead.

Vidalia was on top 31-16 in the third, and increased the lead to 4521 by the end of the pe- riod. VHS took the win over the Eagles 66-31.

Girls vs. Wheeler

Montgomery pulled away and won over the Lady Bulldogs in domi – nating fashion. MCHS took the win 70-39 over Wheeler.

Boys vs. MCHS

The Wheeler boys ran away with their win over the Eagles. MCHS did hold a 13-12 lead at the end of the first quarter, but that was the last lead they had in the game. Wheeler came out in the second and out- scored MCHS 14-3 to take a 26-16 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter the Bulldogs continued to pull away as they pushed their lead to 5128. Wheeler went on to win the game 70-45.
