THE LOVE

OF GOD

BY GARY TOOLE

God is love and His love flows through all, in all and for all. For God so loved all. John 3:16. Everyone! Even the meanest person on earth. Christ died for them too. How can we as mere humans with finite minds fathom such great love. We can’t! We can’t! My sister in law, Phyllis Toole loved everyone. No matter what. Such great God given love. At her funeral they sang the old hymn, “The Love of God.” No other song besides, “Amazing Grace,” describes God’s love so wonderfully. It goes like this, “Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made; were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry, nor could the scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky. Oh love of God how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever more endure. The saints and angels song.” This little girl was ask, “How big is God?” She stretched her little arms as wide as possible and said, “He’s bigger than I can reach!” His love is unmeasurable. Though we don’t always understand all His ways, we trust His will, because deep in our hearts we truly know He cares for us. He loves us. How great is His love? It would drain the ocean dry. It would fill volumes of books and computer disc, but praise God it can fill our hearts and lives like it did my sister in law’s and make us love everybody. Can you say amen?
