Wheeler Plays In Florida

The Bulldog baseball team of Wheeler County High School made a trip through Florida last week and played three games. They took on Seabreeze, Flagler Palm Coast, and Mainland. Wheeler dropped two of those games, but got a win to end the trip. vs. Seabreeze

The Bulldogs took on the Sandcrabs on Wednesday. Seabreeze scored first with three runs in the bottom of the third inning. They added one more in the fourth to lead 4-0.

Wheeler scored one run in the top of the fifth inning, but that was all they could get, as they fell 4-1. vs. Flagler

It was a tough day on Friday against Flagler. Flagler jumped ahead with four runs in the first inning and added three more in the second to lead 7-0. Flagler scored two runs in each of the third and fourth innings on the way to an 11-0 win. vs. Mainland

Against the Buccaneers of Mainland on Saturday the Bulldogs picked up the win. It was a high scoring game with 27 runs scored. Wheeler took the win, 15-12, over Mainland.

This week Wheeler has a three-game series against Wilcox County. They played the first game on Tuesday after presstime. They will play again on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Alamo. They will wrap up the series on Friday in Rochelle at 6:00 p.m.
