The Vidalia High School Indian track team continued to roll through their schedule scoring 133 points to claim the Indian Invitational title Friday in Vidalia.

Brandon Beasley recorded personal records in the 400m and Triple Jump while also taking first place in the Long Jump to lead the Indians, who outscored second place Bleckley County (82 pts) by 51 points.

The Vidalia Lady Indians, with 85 points, continued to improve, finishing second to 4A Baldwin County’s 97-point total. Freshman Takaiya Bacon led the Lady Indians with first-place finishes in the Triple Jump, where she had a personal record and was part of the 4x200m relay team, which also placed first, setting a PR in the process.

“It was a great day for the Vidalia Indian track program,” said Vidalia Head Coach Mandy Godbee. “We had lots of personal best performances and seem to be climbing the state rankings. Shayla Bennett also exceeded her personal best in the shot put, and in doing so, she broke the school record by 1/2 inch with a throw of 36-1.” continued from page
