VHS Track in Milledgeville

The Vidalia High School Boys Track and Field team is in mid-season form, taking the Anderson Bentley Jr. Invitational Meet in Milledgeville on Friday. The Indians outpaced their nearest competitor, host Baldwin Co. by 72 points (195 – 123). Brandon Beasley won the high point award, winning the Long Jump and Triple Jump while finishing 2nd in the 400 and 2nd in the 4×200 relay. Other top finishers were Nahvie Berry in the 110h and the 4×200 Relay Team of Cash Driggers, Jamarion Smith, Hunter Loosberg, and Andrew Hodges.

The girls meanwhile finished 5th behind Baldwin Co., Perry, New Hampstead, and West Laurens, with Takaiyah Bacon taking 1st in the Triple Jump and the 4×400 Relay team of Hannah Pittman, Ava Neesmith, Takaiyah Bacon, and Mischa Wardlaw taking first.

Vidalia Head Coach Mandy Godbee was pleased with the results saying, “We stepped up to tougher competition this week and faced off with some state champions and larger schools. I am proud of the work and development of both teams.”

The Indians will host the Indian Invitational on Friday, March 17, at Buck Cravey Field beginning at 4:00.
